João Casalatina is the Leader of the Foreign Trade practice at Simões Pires, with over 15 years of experience dedicated to the international trade of Brazilian and multinational companies. He has worked on over 50 OEA certification projects, implemented and managed over 100 Drawback projects in their various modalities, participated in RECOF implementations, and performed over 400 requests for tariff reductions such as LETEC, LEBIT, LESSIN, Ex-Tarifário and others. He has extensive experience in customs compliance, customs valuation, export controls and import compliance, as well as in the preparation of defenses and requests for trade barriers to protect the Brazilian industry. He actively participated in 3 mega-projects for the global logistics restructuring of major players in the consumer industry.
Also, João leads the CECAM – Center of Excellence in Merchandise Registration – a specific group of professionals dedicated to tax classification activities, registration of materials and their peripherals.
